Toki has suffered from chronic illnesses, including a recent severe respiratory infection. She does not do well with change. 

History

There is only one other time when a whale was moved from human care to the ocean, and he was never able to adjust. He died shortly after release.

Regulatory

Even if funding is sufficient, there are many regulatory roadblocks. NOAA has listed concerns about a sea pen move in their Toki FAQ

Identity

We oppose the appropriation of Toki as a symbol for animal liberation. We all care for Toki, and we should be acting in her best interest.
